From frequent pictures in this blog you may recall the garden looking like this. But everyone likes a change now and then and now I can show you what a week's hard work can bring; something that anyone can do with a bit of imagination.

First you need to dig a few large holes here and there and, now that the drought is officially over, get out the hose and fill them with water, like this. It helps if you have a tree or two and a few stones on the edge of your garden to give it a natural look and get some good reflections.

Before you begin the hard work, you should give some thought as to what plants you would like to see in bloom. Here are a couple of examples that I knew would suit my garden. See how attractive they are above, overhanging the water.
Flowers are all well and good, but you need plenty of shrubs and greenery to show them off to best effect.
And don't forget to include enough paths so that you and your friends can enjoy strolling round the garden without worrying about getting your feet wet.
And when it's all done, sit back and admire what a little thought can achieve. Of course, there are those who will know this is not my garden but that of a Mr Russell of Russell's Garden centre at Baginton near Coventry who made his 'secret garden' in an old quarry.
All imagination? We walked through it all this morning.
