You may remember this greedy fat pigeon from January.
He sits on the fence awaiting the droppings from the birds who patronise the bird feeder.
There are some who can't keep a good thing to themselves, although I would have thought he would have had more sense. It could be of course that he is a restaurant critic from the Sunday Telegraph - or the Pigeon Post.
Look what's happened. This is only one section of the view from my garden. Click to enlarge to see how many of his mates you can count: and they are not all. This morning in the trees framing the end of the garden I counted 50 pigeons.
I must admit that for most of the day they disappear, probably into Farmer Noaden's fields to gorge on his crops that are just showing green. The gunshot sounding bird scarer in hearing distance when seed planting took place has been ominously quiet of late. Some pigeon fancier complaining perhaps?
It could be that they have been driven here by the tree felling taking place near Daventry Country Park in preparation for another housing explosion. If so we can expect more immigrants from other trees due to come down.
We need a UKip election candidate here!
