Whichever, the Mistral had gone and we left Alison to her sunbathing and swimming, here on the beach at Anse de Renecros, which is round the other side of the headland from Bandol Port, while we began to potter.
Round the beach and up the steps to Avenue Marechal Foch from where we took these pictures, looking back over the beach.
Then onward and upward to the Parc Municipal du Canet, which may be termed Parc but is in reality wood where peace reigns.
That was, until we heard and then saw this elderly lady talking to the birds - mainly pigeons, with the odd seagull and a magpie - her friends she said, who she seemed to know individually and which she feeds every day.
And so we pottered on through the wood, until we found ourselves back in the town, by chance along rue des Tonneliers where we came to the restaurant L'Oulivo and its welcoming patron, Vincent Noe who persuaded us, against our better judgement, to take the menu of the day with a carafe of white wine. For 36 euros in total (35 for cash)- real value for money. We enjoyed an animated lunch with Vincent, wife, daughter and a couple from Harrogate.

And to top it all, literally, I found a panama at a really knock down figure - made of paper in China probably accounted for the price - and something that has virtually disappeared in France, a pair of clip-on sun glasses.
You can't compete with style!
